Resumo: This work presents some practical aspects of GC-MS that should be taken into account by an analyst who works with complex mixtures and requires performing in situ component identification. The analysis is focused on strategies related with the combined use of chromatographic parameters, i.e. retention indices, and mass spectra, to carry out analyte identification at the preliminary and confirmatory levels.
