Early experiments with elution in gas-solid chromatography

Resumo Pressurized systems to handle gases were used for separation, identification and, eventually, quantification of gases and volatile compounds from the beginnings of the 20th century, principally with displacement development. In the 40’s of the last century, some researchers began to experiment with development by elution, which led to the start of the gas-solid chromatography still used today.
