Bead injection technique for automation of sample treatment

Segundo, Marcela A.

Palavras-chave: Sample treatment, automation, bead injection, flow injection analysis.

Resumo: Sample treatment is one of the most time-consuming steps in the analytical process. The bead injection technique targets the miniaturization of this step, bringing innovative features when compared to previous flow schemes where sorbent renewal is not feasible. The advantages and disadvantages of the bead injection technique are critically addressed, along with strategies to implement the utilization of different types of sorbent. Applications to real samples are also highlighted with detailed characterization of the proposed flow systems.
