Resumo: In this work, different aspects of GC detection systems and, particularly, of the mass selective detector, operated in full scan and selected ion monitoring (SIM), are described and compared. Different practical aspects of the GC-MS technique are discussed and several illustrating examples of its application are presented (aromas, essential oils, pesticides).
